Credit Suisse Nabs Asia Vet From UBS

Zurich-based Credit Suisse is hiring Emmanuel Triomphe as its head of trading solutions sales and advisory for its private bank in Asia, according to an internal memo seen by finews.com. A spokeswoman for the bank confirmed the hire, which is effective immediately. He replaces Benjamin Tan, the head of trading solutions execution in the region who had been standing in on the sales and advisory role.

Triomphe spent the last 14 years at UBS, where he was most recently the wealth manager's global head of capital markets structured products. Based in Hong Kong, he has held a variety of roles in its IPS, or investment product and solutions unit, which was disbanded and merged into UBS' securities unit in January.

Leverage-Loving Traders

Triomphe is a veteran especially with regards to structured products in Asia – a highly favored solution by the region’s hands-on traders due to their love for leverage (often embedded) and the plethora of features such as principal protection. He will report to Yves-Alain Sommerhalder, who oversees a unified trading platform, as well as to Credit Suisse's wealth management co-heads in Asia-Pacific, Francois Monnet and Benjamin Cavalli

A French former competitive skier,  Triomphe has been in Asia since 2003, according to wealth portal «Hubbis». Credit Suisse said his appointment underpins its strategy to reap regional collaboration opportunities.
