Raiffeisen: Vincenz Charges in Second Half?

The Gehrig report takes second place in the case being prepared against Vincenz and his colleagues as Gehrig and the lawyers of Homburger legal firm did not look into the Investnet stake, one of the key issues in the case.

Also, in a preliminary probe, the prosecution reportedly had unearthed hidden payments made in connection with Investnet and Eurokaution, a unit of credit card provider Aduno. Otherwise, it would hardly have kept Vincenz and ex-Aduno CEO Beat Stocker behind bars for more than three months.

Trial to Mark Endpoint of Affair

With the lengthy custody period, Marc Jean-Richard-dit-Bressel, the leading prosecutor in the case, raised expectations – closing the case without charges being pressed would come as a major surprise.

On Sunday, «NZZ am Sonntag» (behind paywall) had reported that the suspects had had mobile phones and hard disks sealed, making life difficult for the prosecution, because they had to get a court order to open the devices for a closer investigation. But the judges in general are likely to rule in favor of the prosecution in such instances.

Lachappelle in any case seems clear in his mind about the probable timetable. Once the charges have been pressed and the trial against Vincenz is over, Raiffeisen can finally close the chapter that has beset the bank for so long.
