4,484 Hours With Pierin Vincenz
«Swiss Banker Unscathed by Probe,» was the headline for a story about Pierin Vincenz a year ago, when the former Raiffeisen CEO resigned from the board of Helvetia. In 2018 however the story escalated beyond all expectations: 12 months and report after report later, the Swiss banker can certainly claim the title of the most controversial person in Swiss finance.
The year 2019 will be another Vincenz year: charges have yet to be filed against the fallen banker by Zurich prosecutors who are working painstakingly through the documents collected in the investigation. The internal probe of the affair by Raiffeisen also has yet to be published. And his successor, Patrik Gisel, who left the bank in November, will likely feature on our pages. In 2018, he stacked up 1,995 hours of finews reading. New Raiffeisen Chairman Guy Lachappelle presumably will rise quickly through the ranks, having only reached a read of 103 hours in 2018.
Tidjane Thiam Focus
But Raiffeisen wasn't alone in attracting our readership. Finews writers penned no fewer than 214 reports on Credit Suisse boss Tidjane Thiam and his turnaround strategy. His colleague from down Bahnhofstrasse, Sergio Ermotti, was the most-read banker of 2018 counted by the number of page visits.
These are the 10 bankers that have attracted the most readership on finews:
