Ex-Vontobel Banker Joins New York Boutique
Philipp Hensler (pictured above) was appointed chief operating officer at Epoch Investment Partners, a U.S. finance firm launched in 2004. The Swiss banker managed the U.S. asset management of Vontobel for four-and-a-half years before he left in May.
Epoch was founded by ex-Credit Suisse manager Bill Priest. He is the company’s chief executive and co-investment boss. Hensler is replacing co-founder Timothy Taussig who will retire at the end of the year. The TD Bank Group bought Epoch, which has $40 billion in assets under management, in 2013.
The company expanded to Europe two years ago, opening a sales office in London. It harbors plans to further this expansion.
