Zurich, Switzerland's largest insurer, has appointed a new finance head for its operation in Germany, Europe's biggest economy. The new head, like Zurich's Chief Executive Marion Greco, previously worked at Generali.

Torsten Utecht will take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Zurich Deutschland from April next year, Zurich's German operation said in a statement Thursday. 49-year old Utecht, who also headed Generali's finance operation, succeeds Carlos Schmitt, who is retiring after 14 years at Zurich, it said.
