Banque CIC as Swiss Entrepreneur's Bank

The Geneva-based bank said it is hiring Maurizio Pierazzi (pictured below) as head of corporate finance. Pierazzi's job is to make Banque CIC the leading bank for entrepreneurs in Switzerland, the Swiss subsidiary of French bank Credit Mutuel-CIC said in a statement on Friday.

The bank plans to build a team with classic investment banking services: advice for mergers and acquisitions, financing, and private equity deals.

In doing so, Banque CIC Suisse is emphasizing business with corporate clients, and in advising corporations and their owners with complex financial transactions. It is a similar tack as pursued by Credit Suisse's domestic unit, which was peeled off its parent recently in preparation for a minority to be publicly listed next year, or boutiques such as Reyl & Cie in Geneva.

20 Years Experience

CIC's goal is to win market share with corporate clients, helped by the international network of parent bank Credit Mutuel-CIC.

Pierazzi has more than 20 years experience in mergers-and-acquisitions and corporate finance. Most recently, he worked for investment banking boutique Dimension in Lausanne and previously led Banque Cantonale de Geneve's corporate finance team.
