Julius Baer Asia Banker Returns to Zurich

The Zurich-based private bank said Luigi Vignola will take over as head of structured products in February, initially from Singapore before he moves to Switzerland mid-2017.

Vignola, who has been with Baer since 2009, replaces Philipp Rickenbacher, who had been elevated to the bank's top management in August as head of advisory solutions in August.

He will report to Peter Gerlach, head of markets. Senior Asia appointments will follow at a later date, the bank said.

Vignola joined Baer seven years ago as head of a tailored solutions group within the structured products division, developing the bank's customized derivatives for ultra-wealthy clients and for institutions. He was named head of markets in Asia four years ago, where he has been responsible for developing and expanding trading, execution and advisory platforms. He added the markets and advisory solutions role in Asia to his job two years ago.
