Rothschild Snaps Up Ex-UBS Bankers

The U.K.-based investment company has hired James Neissa, the «Wall Street Journal» (story behind paywall) reported yesterday. The 55-year-old will take charge of Rothschild's North America business.

Neissa is returning to banking after a time out. He left UBS in March 2012 after 11 years. His last position was co-head of investment banking.

Rothschild also hired Lee LeBrun, the former co-head of mergers and acquisitions at UBS Americas. He will be put in charge of mergers and acquisitions in North America. Neissa and LeBrun are due to begin in September.

More to Come

The hirings are part of a Rothschild plan to expand in the U.S. M&A-market. Volumes in 2015 reached record highs and are predicted to develop robustly in coming years.

Rothschild has increased its staff in North America to 31 from 11 over the past three years, including Neissa and LeBrun. And the bank isn't done yet with hirings, according to the report.
